ive been playing guitar for a couple years and want to learn the blues, what is a good book that starts with the basics? what would be more good books after i get through with that one?
Try “Blues you can use” by John Ganapes. Also… listen to a LOT of blues. Not SRV.. I mean people like Son House and Howlin Wolf and Robt Johnson and Sonny Boy Williamson and Lightnin Hopkins and Carl Perkins and the Three Kings, etc etc. Listen to it. Live it. Love it. Branch out to Modern Blues players like Keb’ Mo’ Listen to the great Blues SINGHERS like Ray Charles and Cassandra Wilson. You have to develop some style and feeling… and thats how you do it… not just knowing pentatonic scales.
what do you mean by beginner, Beginner at playing guitar or Beginner at playing Blues?
Blues You Can Use by:John Ganapes, there is a second one too.

‘Beginning Fingerstyle Blues’, Berle & Galbo is good if that’s what you’re interested in.
