Blues Amp?
fccta32@sbcglobal.net asked:
What is the best amp to buy for a guitarist interested in playing blues music? My budget extends to $600. Would a Fender Blues amp be the best for my buck?

No way man go for a like a Vox or find a cheap masa boogie
try the Peavey Bandit 112, i dont know about fender but usually they tend to sound pretty bright for my taste i would rather get a Peavey or Mesa Boogie or Marshall for that even a Roland Jazz Chorus combo would be cool becos it sound way better with pedals unless u want to use the amp overdrive so check this out.
The Fender is a fine choice. Great sound, all the Fender Deluxe and Devilles are great amps with a great blues sound. Read some reviews and make a choice. I would most definate stick with tube amps. Good luck.
I recommend the Blackheart Handsome Devil BH15-112. Nice 15w tube amp – $399.
Buy a Fender All Tube amp go for a 5 watt or a 15 watt, I only say lower wattage because I Have a Fender Blues Deluxe 40wats and that Sucker is LOUD. So its hard to practice if your a bedroom rocker! One other thing if you have a large wattage amp its going to be harder to get that tube distortion all blues players get, I you get a five watt that will be loud, crank it and you get that buetiful crumbling distortion sound that only a hot pair of tubes can get you. Fender All Tube ams are KING for Blues!
Hello,,dude!!the blues ain’t about the amp!!you can play the blues unplugged!!you need to decide how loud you can play before you buy something you can only turn up to 3 to play without squealing the house. If’n you have a private place out in the country and no close neighbors,,go for the gusto,,but remember to let your tubes warm up first,,and don’t be moving it around like some piece of luggage while it’s hot,,you’ll find out how much tube replacement is for sure!Shop around,,I got a 1971 Fender Bandmaster Silverface for $200,,and a Crate 2X12 cabinet for $200,,and that’s way more then I needed,,also got a Mesa-Boogie for $550,,it has 1X12 in it and when hooked up to the Crate cab,it blows me away,,on about 3-4,,yeah man,,shop around at some pawn shops before you drop that chunk of change on anything new!!
The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe would be an excellent choice in your price range.
